El Escritorio Publishing and Research has published the Día(s) de Fiesta Magazine for the last 18 years as can be seen in the Specialty Publications link to the left. In those years we have appreciated our advertisers’ support.
This year the scope of the magazine will be expanded to include a summary of the entire eleven day fair, the Hispanic Art Exhibit at the Cultural Heritage Center, a retrospect on 40 years of Fiesta Day at the Colorado State Fair and other articles about the State Fair and Hispanic contributions to Colorado. Distribution of the magazine Días de Fiesta will be throughout the fair and the community at large.
The Hispanic Art Exhibit at the Cultural Heritage Center is an event of the Colorado State Fair and coordinated by El Escritorio and HILO (Hispanic Initiative for Literacy Opportunities). The Fair attracts over half a million visitors a year. Call (719) 564-5913 for more information or

The Hispanic Art Exhibit, curated by Charlene Garcia Simms of El
Escritorio and HILO, will be an 11 day exhibit at the
Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, Colorado. This years Gold Sponsor is Colorado State University - Pueblo. The exhibit will feature artists
from Colorado and the Southwest. The theme this
year is Ritmos de nuestra cultura , Rhythms of our Culture. Last year the exhibit attracted over 8,000 visitors and was very
well received by the fairgoers. We expect even more this year.
This is the eighth year that both El Escritorio and HILO have
coordinated this Colorado State Fair event (2000 - 2007). El Escritorio has published all of
the Art Exhibit brochures featured on these web pages and will publish the expanded Días de Fiesta magazine edition this year. This exhibit was
preceded by five years of an art and cultural event sponsored by El
Escritorio and HILO, Festival de las
Artes (1994 - 1998).
Thanks to the Colorado State Fair and to Colorado State University - Pueblo for supporting the Hispanic Art Exhibit.
Upcoming Projects
HILO, meaning the thread in Spanish, is planning to initiate an on-line
Indo-Hispano book catalogue system with the establishment of
Indo-Hispano Information Net. The goal of this internet based resource
will be to provide up-to-date and accurate information about books,
other publications and media that address the Native American and
Hispano communities.
Research Services
We hope to link our research to our on-line offering of Indo-Hispano
Resources. We are available to do specific research projects on
request. There will be a charge, based on scope, for our services. We
specialize in genealogical, historical and statistical research, and
documentation of oral traditions about the peoples of the Southwest.
